Tikal Mayan National Park in Guatemala

Last time I traveled to Guatemala I had the opportunity to visit Tikal National Park in Peten, at northern Guatemala. The Maya Civilization and Mayan Cities has always captured my attention, even more these days that everybody is talking about Year 2012, the Maya Prophecies and the abrupt end of the Maya Calendar on December 21st, 2012.

And so I decided to start my journey in the Maya Civilization. Actually I've had the opportunity to visit several Mayan Cities across Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador like Chichen Itza, Tikal, Copan and Tazumal.

So, all started when two years ago I was in Panajachel talking with some Guatemala Indian Natives. They told me that up north in Peten I could find some completely different places with ancient history and stuff. They were talking about Tikal National Park.
